‘I’m never going to drink again’ these words may never have been uttered by so many as they will have been this morning! After a week long celebration of London’s amazing cocktail heritage, last night saw London Cocktail Week draw to a close at the CLASS awards held in Shoreditch Town Hall. The great and the good of the drinks industry gathered to drink a few last cocktails (some of which were highly suspect and tasted a bit too much like thinly disguised sambucca!) and hear who was to be crowned the best in the ten categories being contested.

We’re almost at the end of ‘bar show’ season for another year, and here in the UK that means that London has hosted probably two or three shows too many, some of which fall far short of those offered by other countries. But there is one event left to happen and it might just prove to be the best of the bunch.

 

 

Monday the 11^th of October will be the beginning of the first ever ‘London Cocktail Week’ a new cocktail and spirits based event arranged by the good folks at CLASS magazine. They have taken the best aspects of many of the most respected shows around the world; Tales of the Cocktail, BCB, Manhattan Classic and the Sydney bar show, and have pulled them together into a week-long event taking place across London.
