A few weeks back we blogged about the new spiced rum from our friends at Elements 8 and put a bottle of this delicious nectar up for grabs. All that we asked was for you to name our cocktail at the end of the blog… simple stuff!

The competition proved popular but with almost half the entrants going for the name ‘Elementary my dear Whatson’ we narrowed it down to a handful of promising names. Despite using flattery Victor Nordelof narrowly missed out on winning the competition after suggesting the drink should be named in my honour with a twist on my name (Dan Priseman for those who don’t know) calling it the ‘Damned Spiced Man’. Nice try Vic!. But finally after wheighing up our favourite entries we’re pleased to announce that the winner is…

"PIQUANT ELEMENTS"

Piquant appropriately means:

piquant - engagingly stimulating or provocative

piquant - having an agreeably pungent taste

piquant - attracting or delighting

The "Elements" part of the name referring both to the name of the brand and also the various piquant "elements" used to spice it..
